Grayslake Fire Protection District has recently acquired a 1988 Pierce Dash 1250-GPM, 2500-gallon tanker that was previously in service with the Libertyville Fire Department since 2010. The truck originally came from the Countryside Fire Protection District, which had purchased it new back in 1988. This transfer marks a significant addition to Grayslake’s fleet, as the tanker has a long and storied history of service across multiple departments.
The vehicle is now officially part of Grayslake’s emergency response equipment, and it's already being used for various operations, including water supply during large fires. It's interesting to see how these older fire apparatuses continue to serve their purpose, often getting new life with different departments.
