New ambulance in Winnetka

This is from Larry Shapiro:

Winnetka has received a new unit for Ambulance 28. According to reports, this was the second-to-last ambulance built by Medtec. It’s a Type I unit mounted on a 2012 International HCV 4300 chassis and carries Medtec shop order #26264-1.

This is now Ambulance 28R (noted by a small ‘R’ next to the number 28). It’s a 2007 Type I Medtec on a Freightliner M2106 chassis. Larry Shapiro photo

The previous unit assigned as Ambulance 28R was a 2000 Type I Road Rescue on a Freightliner FL70 chassis. That unit was sold to the Antioch Fire Department. It's interesting to see how the department is updating its fleet with newer models while repurposing older ones. This new Medtec ambulance adds to the growing list of units that have been delivered over the years, and it's clear that the fire department is committed to maintaining reliable and up-to-date emergency response equipment.
