Daimler Ford shares engine technology

According to the "European Auto News", Daimler and Ford recently exchanged their respective engine and new technologies, and further strengthened cooperation in the field of powertrain after finalizing the joint development of fuel cells at the beginning of the year.

Daimler visited Ford's latest 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine and will learn from fellow Renault-Nissan joint development of a three-cylinder turbocharged engine in the future. Roland Kemmler, director of engine development at Daimler's Mercedes-Benz passenger car, said that the 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine "is a very interesting and impressive engine. We have already started this engine with Ford engineers. Dialogue.” The engine won numerous awards for its powerful power performance and low emissions, for compact cars such as Ford Focus and McCool, and small cars such as Carnival and B-Max.

Roland Kemmler also stated that Ford shared information on a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which in return received information on Mercedes-Benz engine-stratified clean combustion technology, which helped Daimler engines meet Euro 6 standards. A Daimler four-cylinder engine is the latest in combustion technology for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
