Buffalo Grove house fire 2-25-11

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department (BGFD) was called just before 2:00 PM when a resident returned home to find smoke pouring from their house. Within minutes, the deputy chief arrived and observed visible smoke, prompting him to escalate the alarm to a Code 4. Engine 26 and Battalion 4 quickly responded and began an interior attack. The fire originated in a second-floor rear bedroom, spreading to the attic and the adjacent room. Although the fire burned through the floor of the bedroom, it was contained before reaching the first floor. Mutual aid came from several neighboring departments, including Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Arlington Heights, Palatine, and the Buffalo Grove Emergency Management Agency (EMA).
