Autodesk, Taiwan Architecture and Building Center partner to develop smart building sector

Autodesk has recently entered into a strategic partnership with the Taiwan Architecture and Building Center (TABC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to boost the development of smart buildings and intelligent construction practices in Taiwan. This collaboration is designed to support the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry by enhancing its digital capabilities and promoting the use of advanced technologies such as BIM and Fusion 360. The initiative comes at a time when the Taiwanese government is actively pushing for digital transformation across multiple sectors, creating new opportunities for innovation and growth. By working together, Autodesk and TABC will focus on training programs, research initiatives, and supporting local talent to drive progress in the field of smart architecture and construction. Fusion 360, a powerful tool already popular among manufacturers, startups, and makers in Taiwan, is set to make a significant impact in the architecture sector. “Fusion 360 will revolutionize how we work in the architecture industry,” said Chin-Fu Yang, Chairman of TABC. “It allows us to integrate with existing workflows and supports the future vision of smart buildings, communities, and cities.” Jui-Lin Chen, Director of the Architecture and Building Research Institute, emphasized the importance of BIM in shaping the future of smart architecture. “BIM is essential for advancing smart construction,” she noted. “The Ministry of the Interior is looking to promote BIM adoption locally and incorporate it into public infrastructure projects to align with global trends.” This partnership marks another step forward in Autodesk’s long-term commitment to fostering innovation in design and construction in Taiwan. The company has previously launched initiatives like "Design Dream Voyage," which introduces K-12 students to cutting-edge design tools and encourages creativity from an early age. “Autodesk is dedicated to strengthening 3D design capabilities across Taiwan,” said Richard Li, Managing Director of Autodesk (Greater China). “We are proud to collaborate with TABC to bring our expertise to the architecture industry and help it reach new levels of excellence.”
