Application:

TR-WVTR-2102 is a water vapor permeability tester based on the infrared sensor method, designed for testing flexible films, sheets, and packages. It can test three specimens simultaneously and provide an average result for all of them.

Plastic films, aluminum foil, aluminized films, plastic composite films, paper-plastic composite films, coextruded films, aluminum foil composite films, and more.

Plastic, rubber, paper, paper-plastic composites, glass, and metal packaging, such as red wine bottles, blister packs, various plastic bottles, Coke bottles, peanut oil containers, Tetra Pak materials, vacuum bags, metal cans, cosmetic packaging, toothpaste tubes, jelly cups, and yogurt cups.

Principle
Film:
The specimen is clamped between the upper and lower chamber. The upper chamber is purged with high-humidity nitrogen, while the lower chamber is purged with dry nitrogen. Due to the moisture gradient across the specimen, water molecules pass through it into the dry side. These molecules are then carried to the infrared sensor, generating a proportional signal that calculates the water vapor transmission rate.
Package:
The package is placed in the lower chamber. The outside of the package is exposed to a specified relative humidity, while the inside is purged with dry nitrogen. Water vapor permeates through the package wall and is detected by the infrared sensor, allowing calculation of the water vapor transmission rate.
