It is reported that the project "Using Waste Polyester to Produce Polyester Polyol" developed jointly by Anhui Thinking New Building Material Co., Ltd. and Provincial Construction Engineering College has solved this problem. At present, the project has obtained the provincial science and technology achievement appraisal certificate, and the technology ranks the leading domestic level. The plastic product we usually use is a kind of polyester. Polyester waste is a hazardous substance in the environment due to its bulkiness and its difficulty in degrading under natural conditions. However, polyester is also a kind of petrochemicals. Recycling its waste can not only save resources, but also make full use of recycled products to obtain good economic benefits. It is reported that as one of the raw materials for production of adhesives, coatings, etc., the project of "using polyester polyester for waste polyester production" has been successfully trial-produced in May 2007. Up to now, the company's project has "eaten" 2400 tons of waste plastic and produce 1200 tons of polyester polyol. After the project is put into production, it is expected that it can “eat†6,000 tons of waste plastics annually, produce and sell 3,000 tons of polyester polyols annually, realize an annual output value of 39 million yuan and a tax of 8 million yuan.
