September 15th, Sunday afternoon, 14606 Thomas Jefferson Drive, Plainfield. I just witnessed a pretty intense fire at a townhouse here. It was quite the scene with thick smoke billowing out, and firefighters working hard to bring it under control.
I managed to snap some photos from a safe distance. The first image shows the initial moments when the flames were really taking hold. You can see the smoke darkening the sky, and the first responders arriving in their fire trucks. That's a Pierce fire engine there, always reliable.
The second and third pictures capture the firefighters in action. They’re focused, hoses ready, doing their best to douse the flames. There’s something about the way they work as a team that’s both impressive and humbling.
The fourth photo gives a broader view of the situation. You can see how the fire spread quickly through the structure. It's a stark reminder of why fire safety is so important.
In the final image, you get a closer look at the aftermath. The firefighters are still on site, checking for any remaining hotspots. It’s a testament to their dedication—they stayed late into the evening making sure everything was secure.
It’s always tough to see a home go up in flames, but I’m glad no one was hurt. If anyone knows the family affected, please pass along my thoughts for a speedy recovery. Living in Plainfield, we’ve all seen our fair share of emergencies, but this one hit close to home.
