The world's largest coal-fired boiler was born in Panjin Liaohe Oilfield
At 5 p.m. on March 12, the 48-ton coal-fired boiler developed by Liaohe Oilfield General Machinery Plant successfully completed 192 hours of stable operation, with all technical indicators meeting or exceeding standards. This achievement marks the boiler as the world's largest coal-fired steam injection boiler to date.
A few days prior, a coal-fired steam injection station in Huanxiling was officially launched. In 2006, Liaohe Oilfield Machinery Plant made history by developing the world's first coal-fired boiler with independent intellectual property rights. The 48-ton model was specifically designed for oilfield steam flooding applications. It entered the site installation phase in September 2007 and was finally completed in February of this year. The unit is expected to begin full-scale production soon.
Currently, the boiler can generate up to 840 tons of steam per day, allowing it to simultaneously inject steam into eight different oil wells. This advancement not only enhances the efficiency of oil recovery but also demonstrates China's growing capabilities in developing large-scale, environmentally friendly industrial boilers. With its high capacity and reliability, the 48-ton boiler represents a significant milestone in the energy and oil industry.
