Study of Stress Ring Calibration Device Used in Stress Corrosion Cracking Test

China Instrument Network Instrument R&D On January 8th, 2018, Shanghai Research Institute of Quality and Technology Supervision, which was undertaken by Shanghai Metrology Institute, “Study on Stress Ring Calibration Device Applied to Stress Corrosion Cracking Test” passed the acceptance of experts.

The stress corrosion cracking test based on the stress ring is an important method to study the anti-sulfide corrosion performance of pipeline materials. The traditional calibration device adopts the method of manual loading and measurement. The work efficiency is low and the measurement accuracy is not ideal. Therefore, the calibration of the stress ring has always been a problem plaguing related scientific research institutes and enterprise users.
The project team designed and developed a fully automatic calibration device based on electronic testing machine measurement technology and DIC digital image correlation technology. The device is small in size, light in weight, easy to carry and has a high degree of automation. It can achieve rapid calibration of the stress ring at the site. Performance indicators have greatly improved compared to traditional calibration devices.
In one and a half years, the project team completed one technical summary report, published two papers, and applied for two invention patents. The research results of the project are of high practical value and have wide application prospects in the field of structural health monitoring of petroleum and natural gas pipeline components, and have good social and economic benefits.
