Terra introduced the A4000i, the world's first electric car to be mass-produced and connected to a smartphone. The A4000i is equipped with a rechargeable lithium battery, which can be fully charged in about 4.5 hours. It can run for about 52 kilometers when the power is full.
The A4000i dashboard has grooves for driving iPhones. Battery status, power consumption, speed, and mileage are displayed on the iPhone screen, and are supported from iPhone 3G to iPhone 5. The A4000i is limited to 2,000 vehicles in Japan before the end of the year and is priced at 450,000 yen.
Terra Co-founder and CEO De Zhongge has a more ambitious plan to sell the A4000i to other Asian countries; Asia accounts for 80% of the global two-wheeler market. De Chung pointed out that in South East Asia, the phenomenon of serious pollution caused by gasoline locomotives is particularly prominent.
De Chongcheh said: "We have considered that middle-class Asian countries want to spend money on locomotives and smart phones. We plan to sell 100,000 electric locomotives that can be connected with smart phones worldwide by 2015."
