Steve Redick was driving through Maywood yesterday afternoon when the fire department responded to a garage fire on the 500 block of N 7th Ave. Local fire companies and auto-aid units quickly arrived and worked efficiently to put out the blaze in the detached garage. The fire appeared to be contained quickly, with no reports of injuries. It’s always interesting to see how local departments respond to emergencies, especially when neighboring units assist.
