Last night, there was a fire incident in Central Stickney involving one of their workers near 4830 S Lockwood. Engine 905 responded and found flames already visible at the back of the building with significant smoke billowing out from the front. They quickly deployed two hoses and had Summit Engine 954 positioned on the roof to ladder up and perform some much-needed vertical ventilation.
Attached are several photos taken by Josh Boyajian that capture the intensity of the situation. The first image shows heavy smoke pouring out of what appears to be a relatively small house engulfed in flames under the cover of darkness. The following images provide additional angles of the scene, highlighting both the urgency and scale of the response effort required.
In another shot, you can see Central Stickney Fire Protection District's fire engines hard at work, their bright lights cutting through the night as they focus on containing the blaze. There’s also an overhead view showcasing how Engine 954 managed to access the roof, which was crucial for managing the fire from above.
These visuals really emphasize the dedication and quick action taken by the firefighters to handle such emergencies effectively. It’s always impressive to witness how they manage to keep communities safe even when situations escalate rapidly.
