Dongfeng Cummins Engine Maintenance Procedures

● Daily inspection or refueling

1) Engine oil level;

2) coolant level;

3) The belt is worn or abnormal;

4) Fuel-water separator discharge;

5) whether the oil, diesel, and coolant leak;

6) The intake pipe has no wear points, pipeline damage, loose clamps, or pipeline rupture and corrosion;

7) Does the cooling fan have cracks, loose rivets, bent or loose blades, and the installation is firm;

8) Crankcase breathing tube is blocked.

● Every 10,000 kilometers, 200 hours or 3 months

1) Intake resistance check of air filter: Replace filter cartridge and reset resistance indicator.

2) Air-air cooler piping: Check air-air cooler piping for leaks, holes, cracks, or loose connections. Tighten the hose clamps if necessary.

3) Air-air cooler: Check the air-air cooler for dirt and debris blocking the blades. Check for cracks, holes, or other damage.

4) Replace the fuel filter, oil filter, and oil.

5) Check valve clearance.

● Maintenance procedures every 20,000 km, 400 hours or 6 months

1) Auxiliary coolant additive and antifreeze concentration maintenance inspection.

2) Battery check, battery cable and connector check.

● Maintenance procedures every 40,000 km, 800 hours or 1 year

1) Cooling fan drive belt maintenance inspection (every day must be done), check the belt tension, deflection.

2) Check for cracks in the tensioner, pulley, and limit block. If there is a crack, the tensioner must be replaced. With the belt mounted, verify that the tensioner arm stop does not contact the spring case stop. If the stopper contacts, the drive belt must be replaced. After replacing the belt, if the tensioner arm limiter is still in contact with the spring case stopper, replace the tensioner.

3) Air compressor exhaust pipe maintenance inspection.

● Maintenance procedures every 100,000 km, 2000 hours or 2 years

1) Check the cooling system piping, clean the cooling system, and fill the coolant.

2) Shock absorber inspection.

3) Radiator hose maintenance inspection.

4) Adjust the valve clearance.
