On June 29, 2020, a serious motor vehicle accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Lake-Cook Road, just west of Raupp Boulevard, in a construction zone. The man, later identified as John Rodgers IV, 49, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Fortunately, the truck driver suffered no injuries. Emergency personnel, including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers, arrived promptly and coordinated efforts to manage the situation. Several fire trucks, including Engine 26 and Tower 25, were seen at the site. The crash caused extensive damage to the car, with multiple airbags deployed and the vehicle severely crumpled.
