On June 29, 2020, a serious motor vehicle accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Lake-Cook Road, just west of Raupp Boulevard, in a construction zone. The man, later identified as John Rodgers IV, 49, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Fortunately, the truck driver suffered no injuries.
