Continental plans to invest 220 million euros in building a Russian tire plant

German tire maker Continental AG (Continental AG), said the group plans to invest about 220 million euros in俄罗斯卡卢加(Kaluga, near Moscow) a new tire plant.

The new tire factory can produce approximately 4 million tires a year, and it is expected that the new tire factory will start producing tires by the end of 2012. The Continental Group stated that the company plans to recruit about 400 employees at the new tire factory by the end of 2013. Nikolai Setzer, head of Continental's passenger and light truck tires business unit, said that the company’s goal is to achieve profitability in emerging markets and that in the next four years the company will invest more than 1 billion euros in Build additional passenger vehicle tire "production capacity."
