Changqing Oilfield: Adhere to the Harmony Development of Oilfield and Local Science

Following the ceremony, the reporter had an exclusive interview with Dr. Xinquan Xu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Changqing Oilfield Company, and the company's General Manager, who is also a recipient of the National May 1st Labor Medal. Last year, the company achieved an oil and gas equivalent of 20 million tons, and it aims to reach 30 million tons in the coming year. Focused on technological innovation, Changqing has developed core technologies tailored to its unique geological conditions. By improving single-well output and reducing decline rates, the company has enhanced efficiency in oil field operations. It has also implemented standardized design, modular construction, and digital management, setting a new benchmark for modern large-scale oil fields. One of Changqing’s most significant achievements is the successful development of the Sulige Gas Field, China’s largest onshore gas field. Despite initial skepticism from foreign oil companies like BP and Shell, Changqing overcame complex geological challenges through technological integration and innovation. The company developed a “5+1” cooperative model and a “Six-Unified, Three-Shared” management approach, along with twelve key technologies centered on well location optimization and rapid drilling. These efforts have led to cost reductions and improved production efficiency, enabling economically viable development of low-permeability and ultra-low permeability fields. Sulige Gas Field now provides stable and safe gas supply to 15 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an. Throughout the development process, Changqing maintained strict safety and environmental standards, achieving zero accidents, pollution, and emissions. This success underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible energy production.
