3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago 7-1-13 (more)

Here's more from Steve Redick on the 3-11 alarm fire in Chicago on July 1, 2013:

After a long time, they decided to shut down the master streams and let the fire burn through the roof area to create better access. This was captured in some great photos, and there was a sudden collapse of the truss addition. I didn’t get the actual collapse, but a close look at the before and after shots shows it clearly. The reserve snorkel was called in and put to work — always an interesting moment to photograph. At this point, a 3-11 was requested because no companies were left in staging. I suspect none were actually used. I shot another panorama, and as Denny McGuire noted, it was unique to see two snorkels and two towers (both HME) operating together. I left the scene shortly after and got a nice view of Engine 1 arriving at its new quarters at 53 E. Pershing — I didn’t take a photo though. Hope you found the photos and video interesting.
