Nickel oxide is a green powder. When it is overheated, it is a powder with a specific gravity of 6.6 to 6.8 and a melting point of 1990 °C. Do not dissolve in water and liquid ammonia. Soluble in sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and ammonia. It is oxidized to nickel oxynitride in air at 400 ° C, and then reduced to nickel monoxide at 600 ° C. The nickel pentoxide obtained by calcination at low temperature is chemically active. If the nickel oxide obtained by calcination at 1000 ° C is green, the activity is small. Moreover, as the preparation temperature increases, the density and electrical resistance of nickel oxide increase, the solubility and catalytic activity decrease. Uses Nickel oxide is used as a binder for enamel, ceramics and glass pigments. Is also used in magnetic materials, metallurgical industries and from the CRT, and also the raw material for producing a nickel salt nickel catalyst. Compression molding is a manufacturing process that uses a cavity half and a core half of a mold to form material into a specific shape created by the two mold halves. Compression molds vary depending on the material being compressed and the dictates of the type of mold required.

Compression molding often requires that the [charge" of material be loaded into the mold, either manually or automatically, prior to the mold halves closing.
