Energy-saving and emission-reducing heat pump units have introduced policies to help each other

Ground source heat pump is the most economical and energy-saving central air conditioning system. It is a heating, cooling and air-conditioning system that utilizes the characteristics that the temperature of underground soil or groundwater is relatively stable, and performs energy conversion. Experiments in Chongqing show that the use of river water source heat pump units is about 30% less energy than conventional air conditioning systems.

Professor Liu Xianying of Chongqing University introduced that the first national research project on ground-source heat pump was completed during the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period at the then Chongqing University of Architecture (now merged into “Chongqing University”). The biggest advantage of promoting geothermal heat pumps in Chongqing is that the underground is mostly sandstone, with high density and high thermal conductivity. The heat transfer performance of underground pipes is 15% to 20% higher than that of Beijing and Shanghai. The disadvantage is that the summer cooling load in Chongqing is far greater than the heating load in winter, which makes it difficult to balance the absorption and release of underground rock and soil. Complex geothermal heat pump systems and other complex technologies are required.

It is understood that Chongqing Municipality has promulgated the Interim Measures for the Administration of Special Subsidy Funds for Chongqing Renewable Energy Building Application Demonstration Project.

The Measures provide:

For air conditioners using renewable energy heat pump units, the unit's rated cooling capacity is subsidized by RMB 800 per kilowatt;

The use of renewable energy to provide domestic hot water heat pump unit, according to the unit rated heating capacity per kilowatt subsidy of RMB 900.
