Application of water glass in molybdenum ore flotation

The modified water glass is effective for the flotation process of molybdenum ore and tungsten ore, and can strongly inhibit the gangue minerals which have similar buoyancy with the target minerals, reduce the number of molybdenum selection operations, and greatly improve the selection efficiency.

When the material contains more mud, water glass is often used as a dispersing agent to improve the foaming phenomenon, in order to improve the grade of molybdenum concentrate. When the production of mud is high and the foam is sticky, it is effective to add water glass properly. Tests have shown that the amount of water glass has little effect on the aluminum selection index. Without addition of sodium silicate, 4.25% molybdenum concentrate grade crude, molybdenum recovery 89.65%; and after addition of water glass, copper and molybdenum concentrate concentrate filtration difficult. Therefore, in the case of a small amount of mud, it is not suitable to use water glass. However, in the closed circuit test, the amount of return of the medium mine will increase, which will bring more mud. Therefore, no water glass is added in the condition test, and a small amount of water glass can be added in the closed circuit test. In the closed circuit test, the amount of sodium sulfide is 15.5 kg/t, and the amount of water glass is 0.55 kg/t. When the copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate contains 17.85% copper and 0.251% molybdenum, the molybdenum concentrate grade is 46.77%, and the molybdenum recovery rate is obtained. 85.72% (including 0.205% copper), copper concentrate with a grade of 17.93% and a recovery rate of 99.995%.
